1. Operator and scope

This notice explains how Synctech sp. z o.o., Poland, contact address Plac Bankowy 2, 00-095 Warszawa, Poland, handles personal information in JAM-yak and its website. Privacy contact: support@jamyak.com. Last updated: 2026-10-29.

Using a guest profile does not mean that information is anonymous: service identifiers, saved material and request data can relate to a particular user or device.

2. Information you provide

Profile and onboarding. If you choose to provide a name, practice preferences or answers during onboarding, we process those details to personalise your experience. If you contact support, we process your contact details and correspondence.

Imported content. We process the audio or video files and supported links you choose to import, together with their titles and source information. This may include voices and other personal information contained in the selected material. Choosing a file does not give us access to all files on your device.

Saved results. When you use the service, we generate and store analysis results, including chords and timed words, and process the items, playlists, playback position and personal edits you save. These results are generated through your use of the app; they are separate from the profile details you enter.

Practice reminders and notifications, when available, are optional. If you enable them, we process your selected schedule and notification preferences and, where push delivery is used, a device notification token. Access to your device's Reminders is requested only if you choose an available feature that requires it. You can change permissions in your device settings.

3. Technical and purchase information

Our systems and service providers receive request information such as IP address, timestamps, app or browser version and service identifiers to deliver requests, protect access, investigate failures and prevent misuse. Limited usage and diagnostic events may describe screens visited, onboarding steps, subscription interactions, completed imports, playback starts, error type, software location and HTTP status. App analytics uses an independent random identifier stored on the device to connect these events across app restarts. This identifier is separate from your guest-library identifier; onboarding answers and imported song material are excluded from these analytics events.

For a subscription we process information needed to recognise entitlement and handle purchase support, such as product, transaction status and purchase identifiers. Apple processes App Store payment details. We do not receive your complete card number or card security code from an App Store purchase.

Our app diagnostic-event filtering is designed to exclude imported audio, lyrics, file names and full source links from those events. This does not mean that content needed for analysis is never transmitted: it is handled separately to fulfil your import.

4. Purposes and legal bases

We use information to provide requested imports and playback, maintain your saved library and settings, recognise paid access, respond to support and rights requests, and protect and operate the service.

Where the relevant data-protection law applies, processing needed to supply the agreed service relies on contract; proportionate security, fraud prevention and reliability processing relies on legitimate interests, subject to your rights; and records or disclosures required by law rely on legal obligation. Optional processing that requires consent is performed only with that consent.

5. Who receives information

We use service providers for cloud hosting and storage, audio and text analysis, product analytics and diagnostics, subscription verification and support. They receive information needed for their work, which may include selected recordings and derived text for analysis. Apple handles App Store purchases under its own privacy information.

When you open an embedded website such as YouTube, its provider receives technical request information and may use cookies or collect activity under its own privacy policy and your settings. Its practices are separate from our app analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information when legally required, to assess rights claims or protect people and the service, or as part of a lawful business transfer with applicable notice and safeguards. We do not sell personal information or send imported audio or song text to our app analytics for advertising. Private uploads are not made public merely because you import them.

6. Imported content and model training

JAM-yak processes recordings and derived text to provide the analysis you request. We do not use your imports to train our own recognition models. Technical service information is used for operation and reliability.

Analysis providers' handling of submitted content: We have disabled optional model-improvement use for new submissions in our transcription service. Earlier submissions are not covered by this change. Providers may retain information to deliver and secure their services under their applicable terms.

7. Saved material and reused results

Personal files, saved versions and library links are associated with your guest profile. For supported public links we may reuse a previously generated analysis instead of analysing the same source again. Removing your personal library link or guest profile does not necessarily erase independently retained material derived from a public source, or another person's independently authorised copy.

Public availability does not remove privacy or copyright rights. Contact support@jamyak.com to request assessment of material that affects your rights. We do not automatically publish private uploads as catalogue entries.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information while it is needed for the purposes explained in this notice or to meet legal requirements, including tax, accounting and the handling of claims. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details.

You can request deletion through the app's deletion option or by contacting support@jamyak.com. Requests cover your profile, personal library and private material, subject to technical completion and applicable legal exceptions. Independently retained results from public sources are handled separately as explained above.

Some information may remain in legally required records or residual backup copies until the applicable retention cycle ends. We assess these exceptions and do not treat a pending deletion request as completed. Deleting your profile does not cancel an Apple subscription.

9. International processing and security

Information may be processed in the European Economic Area and other countries in which our service providers operate. Transfers are subject to applicable data-protection requirements, including adequacy decisions or appropriate contractual safeguards where required. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your request.

We use access restrictions and other technical and organisational measures appropriate to the service. No storage or network service can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy, restrict processing, withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing, or complain to a relevant supervisory authority. These rights can have lawful exceptions.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including reliability or security uses, by contacting support@jamyak.com; we will assess the request under the applicable law.

Use the account-deletion option where available, or contact support@jamyak.com. We may request proportionate verification to avoid disclosing or deleting someone else's data. Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple subscription.

11. Local storage and website

The app stores access credentials, preferences and limited cached audio locally. Clearing that storage can remove access to a guest library. Embedded third-party websites may use their own cookies and device storage.

This website version has no advertising pixels, analytics scripts, contact form or third-party embeds. Ordinary hosting request logs may still be processed. If we later introduce non-essential cookies or similar technology, we must update this notice and obtain choices required by law before enabling it.

12. Age and changes

JAM-yak is a general-audience music-practice tool, not a service specifically directed to children. A store content-age rating does not replace the parental authorisation or consent required by applicable law. A parent or guardian must provide any legally required authorisation before a child's personal information is submitted. Contact support@jamyak.com if you believe we hold information about a child contrary to the applicable rules; we will assess the request and delete or otherwise address the information as required.

We may update this notice and its effective date. We will communicate material changes as required. A translation is provided for convenience; the controlling version is English unless applicable law requires otherwise.
